When it comes to landscaping and placing indoor plants, not only can you enhance the beauty of a space, but choosing the right plants can also help keep the air clean and fresh!

However, if you live in a small apartment with limited space, things can get a little trickier. These space-saving plants mentioned below can inspire you to turn your home into a tropical paradise.

1. Plant pot stand

Clean up your floors and create a sense of space by choosing plant pot stands instead of big, bulky flowerpots. In this way, you can turn a typical tabletop pot into a trendy, high-profile pot stand. Choose a minimalist design that avoids spotlights shining directly on the plants.

2. Wall plant

Want an amazing way to grow plants at home without taking up space? Think vertically! Vertical gardens are ideal for those who live in small apartments because the only space required is your walls. What better way to decorate your home than to create a wall full of green accents? Hang a few potted plants on a bright wall (you’ll want to choose the wall that gets the most natural light). Any kind of plant will work with this design, but if you want to take it a step further, choose plants that will spread and hang.

3. Large plants

When it comes to indoor plants, homeowners and plant lovers alike tend to gravitate towards the safe card and only choose small, delicate plants. They don’t know that large plants can look amazing in a small space, as long as they choose the right method. You can choose birds of paradise and dracaenas and place them in bright corners (this is important because large plants need a lot of sunlight to survive) to fill up the space.

4. Perfect match

If you want to create an oasis, don’t choose just one plant. You need different heights, shapes and textures to create a lush tropical look. An easy way to achieve this is to mix and match large plants like saxifrage, hanging plants like silver waterfall horseshoe gold, and round plants like money trees that will turn into blooming foliage, and it’s a natural fit to gather these plants together.

5. Suitable light

While houseplants are easy to care for, some varieties do need proper light to grow and reproduce. Finding the right light is not easy, because the brightness we envision may not be enough (or too much) for our precious plants.

6. Unique odd number

There is an unwritten rule in design that can make or break a space, and that is the “rule of three”. It’s a simple rule that you just arrange items in odd numbers, which will make them appear more effective and attractive than even numbers. This rule applies when placing plants. Arrange your potted plants with 3, 5, 7, 9, preferably 3.

7. Hanging plants

Floors, walls and tables are not the only options for placing plants. If surface space is limited, it’s time to go beyond conventional thinking: hang them up! You can choose to hang plants in lace plant hangers or use regular hanging metal hangers.

8. Featured flowerpots

Sometimes you need to upgrade and throw away the old flowerpots you brought back from the garden center, and you can grow your plants in more impressive flowerpots. If you prefer an industrial style, optional concrete planters are available in your space. Or you can use woven baskets to grow plants to add coziness to your room. Yes, you’re not mistaken. The function of the basket is not only to store dirty clothes. For an easy and quick upgrade, consider painting your flowerpots a bold color and adding a textured pattern or bronze for a touch of luxury and elegance.

9. Fill, tower, spread concept

If you want to group some plants together, use the fill, tower and spread concept.

Towering: They are generally taller and more prominent, adding a flamboyant effect. It can be placed in the middle so that it can be seen from all angles or behind a wall.

Fill: They surround towering plants and add beauty to the look. Filling plants in front of pots or around towering plants enhances texture contrast.

Sprawl: Next, you’ll need some plants that will spread and climb over the edge of the pot. Choose plants that are suitable for contrasting with other plants.

10. Artificial plant

For those places without natural light, you can use artificial greenery to decorate your room. While we know it’s not ideal, at least you don’t have to worry about its ability to grow. Artificial plants can also retain them for a long time.

11. Air plants

If you want to try growing houseplants but aren’t sure how to care for them or how to get started, then you might consider air plants. Unlike most houseplants, they are very easy to care for. Also, you don’t need soil to grow air plants, so they can be grown anywhere. Get creative with air plants by placing them in terrariums or better, in beautiful frames.
