Everyone dreams of having a place we can call home. But before we can afford to buy a property and step into the next phase of adulthood, we first have to tackle something less important — renting, but that doesn’t mean your house is going to be that bad. We will show you how to improve the happiness of living in a rental house in this article. Here are 5 tips on how to turn a rented house into your dream home.

When it comes to renting, it is important to check certain criteria on the checklist. We wanted a place that was not only convenient-with well-developed public transportation around and close to offices and shopping malls-but one that also made us feel comfortable. As a tenant, we are often limited when we want to add a personal touch to our rental space. Nonetheless, here are some tips and tricks you can use to beautify your rental space without pissing off the landlord or even getting kicked out. You may not be able to afford your dream home right now, but that doesn’t mean you can’t make your rental home feel like home.

1. Choose the right artwork

If you’re a photographer, hang some landscape shots on the wall. Frames with a minimalist design keep the walls from looking cluttered, after all you want people to focus on the art, not the frame, right? If you want other frames, canvas frames are also a good choice.

When renting, remember to avoid drilling holes in the walls. You can buy hooks with flat backs and double-sided tape. This way you can easily hang things on the wall without having to smash a wall and drill a hole. Then again, the hook with double-sided tape is easy to attach and easy to remove.

2. Add some touch of nature

Maintaining a healthy body is not just through diet and exercise, in fact, mental health is also affected by the surrounding environment, especially at home. You can decorate your home with some houseplants. This will give your brain a mental relief from daily chores and lift your mood. Let them create different colors and wonders in your daily life!

Plants like lavender are beautiful to look at, known for their stress-relieving properties, and one of the ingredients that is often used in spa products such as bath salts, soaps, and candles. You can also try placing saxifrage plants, which provide a great feature for bedrooms as it improves indoor air by absorbing various toxins in the air, including trichloroethylene, formaldehyde, toluene, benzene, and xylene . What’s more, in addition to converting carbon dioxide into oxygen, it helps provide more fresh air to the atmosphere. But these are just a few of its many features!

3. Add some personality with a modern wallpaper design

It’s a problem all tenants face: trying to live in a space with dull and stained white walls. But don’t worry, here are some things you can do to help refresh your leased space without repainting.

A simple and perfect solution is to apply removable wallpapers. Wallpaper is one of the most popular home design trends right now, and it helps to completely change the look and feel of an entire space. With wallpaper, you can give your walls different textures and patterns. If you’re not sure which design fits the style of your house, make it the most important element before choosing whether to cover the entire home.

Floral and geometric prints are all the rage right now. Bold, bright, and edgy geometric patterns help create the illusion of depth in a space, and this wallpaper design is perfect for any room without spending money on an interior designer. If you’re looking for something better, consider a simpler print — it’s not the kind of design you see in old Hollywood movies, but a sleeker minimalist print with muted colors design.

4. Create a feature wall

Don’t like wallpaper and want to make that moldy white wall look beautiful? You could try asking your landlord for permission to build a feature wall and agree to repaint it to its original condition before your lease expires.

For those of you lucky enough to have the opportunity to decorate your walls, here are some suggestions:

Create a focus. Your first focal point into the room should be the wall you have chosen.

Next, choose your favorite color. If you want to liven up the vibe, opt for brighter, warmer shades like red, orange or yellow. Conversely, if you want to create a calm and peaceful atmosphere, you can choose cool colors.

If you have a small living room, opt for lighter shades as it helps create the illusion of a larger space.

5. Choose a rug

When choosing a carpet, the first thing you should focus on is comfort, and then its design. If you feel like you are stepping on a cloud when you step on the carpet, congratulations, you have found the perfect carpet.

Having said that, it’s highly recommended that you put rugs at the end of your shopping list and buy rugs after you’ve bought all the furniture you need so you can measure exactly how wide and how long your rugs will need to be in your open space. A common mistake people make is buying too early, not realizing it’s not the right size or style.
